On Monday, Sonoco opened a new 30,000 square foot recycling facility in North Charleston. I don’t know a ton about Sonoco, but this new facility will be used to collect, process, and recycle nearly 250 million pounds of material each year. Not only does Sonoco take sustainability seriously, they are closing the loop when it comes to recycling:

Sonoco, which processes and uses many of these recycled materials to produce recycled paperboard at its South Carolina paper mills, then uses that paperboard to produce new consumer and industrial packaging, making Sonoco one of the few cradle-to-cradle suppliers of packaging in the industry.

If you are interested in checking out the new facility, they are giving guided tours for the rest of this week.  You can call 843.577.6840 to RSVP, or just show up at the open house on January 18th at 2 p.m.

    Nicely written & done!
I’ve just started blogging in the last few days and
realised that lot of people simply rework old ideas but add very little
of benefit. It’s great to read an educational write-up
of some actual value to me and your readers.
It is actually gking down on my list of creteria
I need to emulate being a new blogger. Reader engagement and content quality are king.

Many excellent ideas; you’ve certtainly made it on my list of blogs to follow!

    Carry on the fantastic work!
    Cheers,
    Stan
