This is the kind of local green news I like to post – even if it’s a few weeks old. Apparently Half-Moon Outfitters is building a new distribution center they hope will obtain South Carolina’s first LEED Platinum certification. A sustainable building is a great way to show off green technologies and encourage other businesses and governments in the area to follow suit. I hope they have tours!
On a related note, I just sat through a presentation by Michael Sola from The Chesapeake Bay Foundation. They were the first LEED Platinum building in the US, and are a great model for other businesses. I know they would like to think they started a trend – one I’m happy to see spreading into the Lowcountry.
