Here are a few interesting and newsworthy links from the outer reaches of the green Web…
- Not sure why switching from plastic bags to reusable bags is a good idea? Read this article… via Boing Boing.
- NPR consistently provides solid and enlightening reporting about the environment. On Friday, I caught a really interesting segment on Marketplace about carbon offsets. I recommend checking it out as they cover the basics and delve way deeper. You can read the text and listen to the segment here.
- Check out Energy Star @ Home. It’s an interactive guide that looks at ways to save energy in each room within a typical house. It’s pretty basic stuff but still informative… via Lifehacker.
- Not too long ago, we at Go Green Charleston took a look at the “best” gas stations, environmentally speaking. Topping the list were BP and Sunoco. Well, it now looks like Sunoco may own the top spot as BP wants to increase the amount of toxic waste they dump into Lake Michigan. You know you’re in trouble when Pearl Jam calls you out… So, buy Sunoco and if you feel inclined, sign the BP petition here.
- Best Buy planning green stores? Yes! And that makes me happy because although I try to keep my consumer urges in check, I love me some Best Buy… via Green Options.
