Weekly Trashed

This week we go back to the column’s roots with a heinous shot of a cardboard catastrophe. The sheer volume of this pile amazes me, not to mention the wood palettes (on the right). I wonder if the resident knows that businesses will actually pay for those palettes? Check out the Weekly Trashed archives for […]

Weekly Trashed

Oh. My. Gawd. I drove past this pile of apathy this morning and nearly passed out – mostly because I was excited to get the photo posted. A plastic bucket filled with wood, a half dozen paper bags, a used plastic gas can, a pair of socks laying in the street, and a garbage bin […]

Weekly Trashed

I was pleasantly surprised on my drive out this morning, so I decided to give my neighbors a pass. I saw no obscene displays of wasteful and irresponsible trash disposal, and therefore no photo to share. But hey, there’s always next week! Check out the Weekly Trashed archives for more.

Weekly Trashed

I’m in Vancouver, British Columbia today, so I had to go to the archives to pick this week’s shot. It’s actually a doozy, and I’m not sure why I passed on it two weeks ago. First off, they didn’t set aside the large items for the claw to pick up – that’s just common decency. […]

Weekly Trashed

This week’s shot doesn’t have the scale of recent posts, but it does have the requisite supply of cardboard.  I really like the details, like the infinitely reusable shipping tube and the recyclable bottle of chemicals sitting on top of the overflowing bin.  Seeing the boxes inside of boxes inside of boxes just dumbfounds me. […]

Weekly Trashed

Oh boy, here comes the cardboard carnage again. This is my 4th edition of Weekly Trashed, and I can see that cardboard recycling apathy is going to be a major theme. I’m not even seeking these waste management mishaps out – they are all on my drive out of the neighborhood each Thursday morning. If […]

Weekly Trashed

This week’s edition is just box city. Nothing over the top, but rather someone who decided taking a couple minutes to break down boxes and take them to a drop site was just asking too much. I mean really, how hard is this?  I break down each box as I get it, stack them behind […]

Weekly Trashed

This week’s entry has the usual cardboard carnage, but I couldn’t help notice that yard waste tucked in under there. Sure the guys could drag it out for the CAT, but they would be risking puncture wounds from the 4-inch nails sticking out of those boards. Not cool. More Weekly Trashed: April 27th.

Weekly Trashed

Sometimes trash day really bums me out… it reminds me that some people just don’t seem to care. On my way out in the morning, I always see something sad. Today was no exception.
